PREPARING YOUR WILL

Having a will prepared by a professional lawyer is the best way to make sure that your legacy is properly disbursed. The Falldien Law Office uses simple language to prepare your will, which covers modern topics, such as social media accounts, pets, and digital assets.  

We charge $900.00, plus HST to complete your will. This includes your Power of Attorney for care, your POA for property, and notarizing your signatures with witnesses at our office. For joint wills, we charge $1,500.00, plus HST. 

ASSISTING EXECUTORS

For clients that have been named as an executor, we can assist with the difficult process of managing the estate during their time of loss. For example, executors may need assistance with obtaining a certificate of estate trustee (also known as probate), assistance with preparing legal documents for the estate, and assistance arranging taxes for the estate. 

The Falldien Law Office charges $425.00 per hour for legal fees to assist executors with the administration of an estate. An initial consultation is required before services can begin, which costs $700.00, plus HST.

To apply for a certificate of estate trustee, the office charges a fixed fee of $2,500.00, plus HST. If the estate is worth more than $50,000.00, then there will also be a deposit required for the estate administration tax, which will be discussed further at your consultation meeting. 

ESTATE LITIGATION

Sometimes a family cannot agree on certain aspects of an estate, particularly where assets are withheld or not properly disclosed. In these cases, it can be helpful to have an experienced litigation lawyer who can bring your matter to Court.  

Mr. Falldien charges $425.00 per hour for legal representation regarding an estate. In the alternative, commission fees can be arranged if necessary.
